Dean Einstein hosted a Facebook Live Q&A with Craig Allen, Executive Director for
Housing & Residence Life and Fraternity & Sorority Life, and Emily Ivey, Director
of New Student & Family Programs. Watch the video and read below to find the answers to your questions about housing, first-year experience
programs and more.
Applying for Housing
Once you submit your commitment deposit, Housing & Residence Life will send you an email with information about the housing application, which will be open from May 1-June 1, 2024. Students can submit their application any time between then, and can log in multiple times to make changes. Once the application closes, housing and residence life will begin releasing housing assignments on June 20, 2024. Please note that we expect honors students to live in the Milton Daniel residence hall, which is an incredible community with programming specific to students in the John V. Roach Honors College.

Registering for Orientation and Frog Camp
Once students pay their commitment deposit, they can register for orientation and
Frog Camp. Orientation is required for all incoming students, and is a two-day experience
for first-year students and a one-day experience for transfer students. Students are
encouraged to bring family to orientation and each student can register up to two
guests. At orientation, students will build their community, meet peers and upperclass
students and register for classes with their academic advisor.
We offer multiple orientation sessions, so choose the session that works best for you. We roll out classes during the summer, so you'll be able to register for classes no matter which session you attend. Students stay overnight in a residence hall, and family members can choose to stay on campus too.
Frog Camp is optional, but highly encouraged for all new students! Parents don't attend Frog Camp, because this is students' first chance to build community, make new friends and gain a sense of belonging. Texas Frog Camps are free, and we also offer destination camp options. Our students rave about their Frog Camp experience, because of the lasting friendships and memories they make.
Frogs First is our welcome week for all new students. Some events are required for students and we offer optional events and activities to get to know your fellow Horned Frogs before classes begin.
