Transferring is a big move, you’re wondering which credits come with you, whether you’ll finish on time, and if you’ll really fit in. We get it, and we’ve built this page to answer all three. Transfer Applicant Checklist

TCU has certain admission and residency requirements for transfer students, with some instances of special consideration. Separate academic requirements exist for some departments and international transfers. 

Required

1. Application TCU App or Common App. Transfer nursing clinical students use Nursing CAS instead.
2. Application Fee: $50 Nonrefundable. (Waived for veterans, Phi Theta Kappa members, and first-generation college students.)	Pay Fee→ Fee Waivers→
3. Official College Transcript(s) Must come from your school (sealed/signed or electronic), not from you. These can be sent to frogmail@tcu.edu, or through school-supported platforms: Naviance, Parchment, SCOIR, TREx, Slate.org, Common App, Coalition, MAIA, or Duolingo.
4. Official High School Transcript Must come from your school (sealed/signed or electronic), not from you. With graduation date (or official GED documentation). GED-earners need 24 transferable college credits before transfer eligibility.
5. Essay: 300-500 Words This is a chance to show who you are, beyond your resume. Only one prompt is required, and these can be completed within your application.	Explore Essay Prompts→
6. Disciplinary Standing Form Sent by your school, not you. Not needed from a college attended only for dual credit.	Download Form→

• Freedom of Expression
  An essay, poem, work of art, or a link that shows another side of you. Make sure the link settings allow us to review!
• Letters of Recommendation
  Two are required for Chancellor’s Scholarship consideration. Sent by the recommender to transferfrog@tcu.edu.
• FAFSA & CSS Profile
  File both to unlock federal, state, and TCU need-based aid.
  
• Résumé
  Scholarship résumé required for Chancellor’s Scholarship consideration.

Dates & Deadlines

Transfer deadlines depend on the term you want to start. Apply by the final deadline for your term to be considered for scholarship; later applications are reviewed case-by-case.

DEADLINE	TERM/WHO	WHAT IT MEANS
Feb. 1	Fall Early Action	Complete by Feb 1 → decision by around April 1.
Feb. 1	Fall Traditional BSN Nursing	App + TEAS scores due. Decisions mid-March. Prerequisites must be complete before the program starts.
April 15	Summer & Fall International	Final deadline. Decision by June 1; scholarship awards by July 1.
May 1	Summer U.S. (Final)	For U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
June 1	Fall U.S. (Final)	Decision by around Aug 1. All who apply by this date are considered for scholarship.
Oct. 1	Spring International	Final deadline. Decision by Dec 1.
Nov. 1	Spring U.S. (Final)	Decision within 4–6 weeks of a complete application.
