Congratulations! You’ve been admitted to TCU. Whew. Breathe a sigh of relief, pat yourself on the back and take time to celebrate. But wait – now what? We have some tips to guide you through next steps to making TCU your official college home! And be sure to watch your mailbox for a brochure with more information about Frog Camp, orientation, housing and more.

Visit campus.
Still making your decision or want to visit to catch the excitement on campus? We offer in-person events just for admitted students and registration is available in your MyTCU portal. When you visit, talk to students, faculty, staff and families in our community to get a real sense of what life is like in the classroom and around campus. If you can't make it for a visit event, join us for an in-person or virtual campus tour.

Pay your commitment deposit by May 1.
Pay your $500 nonrefundable commitment deposit by May 1 at 5:00 pm Central Time to let us you officially plan to attend TCU!

Please keep in mind that the commitment deposit is due by January 15 for Early Decision I and March 15 for Early Decision II. If you’re still waiting on financial aid information or have an extenuating circumstance, please contact us as soon as possible so we can assess your situation.

Submit your health records and explore health insurance.
Check out student health requirements and submit your records on our Health Center website. There, you can also explore insurance options and requirements for undergraduates.

Register for First-Year Experience Programs.
At Frog Camp, you’ll make unforgettable memories in exciting destinations. You’ll make new friends at late night dance parties and talk through what to expect from college life with student mentors. Texas Frog Camps are free!

TCU's orientation is a required part of your first-year experience, and we make it fun! You’ll meet with your academic advisor, sign up for classes and learn about student life while staying in residence halls with new fellow Frogs. Registration for Frog Camp and orientation will open in the MyTCU portal on March 26, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. Central Time - only for students who have made their commitment deposit. Check out our calendar of all Frog Camp and orientation sessions so you can plan your summer.

Apply for and select your housing options and select a meal plan.
The housing application is open May 1 - June 1 and can be completed after vaccination records have been accepted. Check out the housing website to view first-year residence halls. It helps to answer the lifestyle questionnaire honestly, especially if you don’t already know who you’ll room with. Our housing staff uses answers from your survey to match up roommates or you can choose your own roommate. Many new students seek out a roommate on Instagram or BrightCrowd, a platform that all admitted students receive an invitation to join.

First-year room assignments for students who have submitted the housing application will be completed by Housing & Residence Life staff and will be viewable on the housing portal in the summer. Assignments will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the student’s gender, classification and application preferences. Hall and room type, community type, roommate group members and programmatic considerations are also considered. Every effort will be made to accommodate student requests, however assignment in a particular hall and/or with a particular roommate cannot be guaranteed.

As for dining, TCU has many on-campus eateries, so you'll have countless options to fuel up for classes. All first-year and sophomore students living on campus are required to have a meal plan and you’ll select one through your my.tcu.edu account. Check out meal plan options and dining locations on the Dining Services website.
