Academic Scholarships

The Office of Admission awards academic scholarships to our highest achieving admitted students. First-year students are automatically considered for academic scholarships, with the exception of the Chancellor's Scholarship, which requires an application to the John V. Roach Honors College for consideration.

First-year awards are based primarily on a combination of grades, ACT or SAT score and curriculum rigor. Meeting minimum GPA and test scores does not guarantee scholarship eligibility. For purposes of both admission and scholarship consideration, TCU superscores both the ACT and the SAT. The SAT/ACT is optional in consideration of both admission and scholarship through 2027.

Transfer awards are based on GPA and transferrable hours. Except for the Chancellor’s Scholarship, transfer awards are guaranteed if minimum scores and hours are met.

2026-2027 Academic Scholarship Amounts

The middle 50% of our 2025 scholarship recipients had a 3.77-3.97 Grade Point Average (GPA)* and those who submitted test scores** had a 29-33 ACT score and a 1280-1480 SAT score. Meeting these GPA and test score ranges does not guarantee any level of scholarship.
