1. Application Opens August 1

You can submit your application through the TCU Application, Common App, Coalition Application or ApplyTexas. Choose the platform that works best for you. Transfer applicants can use the TCU App or the Common App.

2. No Supplemental Essays Required

New this year, we removed short-answer prompts, giving you more space to focus on your story in the essay you already plan to write. Some programs will still require a supplemental question, including the John V. Roach Honors College, TCU Nursing and special scholarship programs.

3. Test-Optional Through 2027

You’re in control when it comes to SAT or ACT scores. TCU's test-optional policy is in effect through fall 2027, meaning you can choose whether to submit test results. Our testing policy means that submitting scores can only help, not hurt you, when it comes to admission and scholarship.

4. Keep These Key Deadlines in Mind

  • Early Action & Early Decision I: Submit by November 1
  • Regular Decision & Early Decision II: Submit by February 1

Applying early gives you more time to write your essay and ask a teacher and counselor for recommendation letters. View our application dates and checklists online.

5. Applicants Are Automatically Reviewed For Academic Scholarships

TCU invests in your excellence! Applicants are automatically reviewed for academic scholarships ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 per year. Find more information about cost, aid and scholarships on our website.

If you have questions along the way, reach out to your admission counselor, or email us at frogmail@tcu.edu. The TCU team is ready to support you every step of the way.
