First Year Experience Q&A

You can register for orientation and Frog Camp once you deposit.
Once you make your $500 non-refundable commitment deposit, you're officially a Horned Frog! You'll need to make your deposit by the National Candidate Reply Date of May 1 at 5:00 pm CDT to start as a student in the fall. Once you make this deposit, you'll be able to register for orientation and Frog Camp sessions in your MyTCU portal.

First-year experience programs are designed for you to build community.
We offer orientation sessions throughout the summer, led by student orientation leaders, faculty and staff. We design these programs to give new Horned Frogs a wealth of knowledge about living on campus, getting involved, navigating classes and more. You'll register for classes with your academic advisor and it's the perfect chance to meet new friends!

And there's no experience quite like Frog Camp -- just ask students who met their first friends at the late-night dance parties. We offer exciting Frog Camp sessions in Fort Worth and beyond. All Texas camps are free to attend and these are for students only! More than 80 percent of first-year students attend Frog Camp and we highly encourage you to sign up. Students often say Frog Camp is one of their favorite memories and it's another meaningful chance to learn about college life through small groups, service projects and fun activities.

Family members are welcome to attend orientation with you.
We welcome families to attend orientation with their student! Each student can register up to two guests and families can opt to stay in a residence hall for a small fee or they can book their own lodging in Fort Worth. We offer parent sessions geared toward helping mentor your new Horned Frog and it's a great opportunity to get to know the place your student will call home for their college years.
