Financial aid applications open October 1 and we recommend you submit your FAFSA and
CSS Profile applications early to maximize your opportunities to cover college costs.
Nearly 80 percent of TCU students rely on financial aid, so we have some steps to
help make your dream of becoming a Horned Frog a reality! Even if you don't think
you'll be eligible for grants, filling out these applications can open up the door
for more scholarship dollars in the future.
Step 1: Submit the 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You'll need to submit this application annually and this will determine your eligibility
for federal and state financial aid. TCU’s FAFSA code is 003636.
Texans who are ineligible to complete the FAFSA can complete the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA). International students are not eligible to complete the FAFSA, but can submit the
CSS Profile.
Step 2: Submit the CSS Profile. The CSS Profile determines your eligibility for institutional aid and you'll only
submit the application once. It can also provide a more complete picture of your family's
finances. TCU requires that you complete both applications to maximize your opportunities
to receive aid. The CSS Profile charges a small application fee and offers fee waivers
to eligible families. TCU's CSS code is 6820.
Step 3: Submit verification documents if requested. If the U.S. Department of Education requires
verification for your financial aid applications, you'll need to submit the requested
information before we can finalize your financial aid package. Check your email and
myTCU to stay on top of any requests for documentation and only submit these if requested
by TCU.
Step 4: Watch for your financial aid award. We recommend applying for aid early, so we can
release your aid package soon after you receive your admission decision. Typically,
aid notifications start in December for Early Decision applicants, in January for
Early Action, and February for Early Decision II and Regular Decision.
