How did you discover TCU?
I was made aware of and applied for TCU via the Common App. I did not know anything about TCU until I applied. I wanted to go out of state for college, and since I have family in Texas, this is the state I wanted to be in. When I got accepted, I was also offered a scholarship, so I obviously wanted to visit and see what the Horned Frogs were about. The visit is really what made me choose TCU.
What made you choose TCU?
The campus was so beautiful and small. I was impressed with the landscape, the buildings, and the overall atmosphere of the campus. Also, I went to a small high school, so I was used to small class sizes and personal relationships with teachers. I wanted that intimate level of education to carry over into my college career, so TCU was the best fit because the average class size and overall population are small. I also grew up in the city. I am a city girl, and the Dallas/Fort Worth area allowed me to feel at home and comfortable because it was something I was used to in my hometown of Denver. Furthermore, the academic rigor and prestige that comes with attending a private university like TCU is something I desired.
What is one thing you would like to tell a prospective student?
One thing that I would like to tell a prospective student is that college may be scary, especially when you are going into a whole new state by yourself. But, it is also one of the best experiences of your life. You will learn new things in the classroom, new things about the world, and new things about yourself daily. Take risks and seize new opportunities.
